Ting Zhang is a a technologist interested in the material human impact of software. They spent five years as a software engineer at BuzzFeed, where they built a human-in-the-loop content distribution system, maintained data infrastructure, and developed internal tools. They've given talks or facilitated workshops at NICAR, the News Product Alliance, and the Computation + Journalism conference. In their free time, Ting has volunteered as a programming instructor at Emergent Works and Girl Develop It.
